Man's voice (VO): Tara!

Tara jumps.

Dissolve to a younger Tara in front of her father, bending her head as Donnie is yelling beside her.

Donnie: "She did it dad!"

Father: "Did she?"

Tara's mother: "she probably didn't on purpose..."

Father: "Tara, you know the rules here"

Tara lightly nods without looking up.

Cut to Tara awkwardly walking in a high school hallway, her head bent and her hands folded in front of her.

Cut to Tara doing the dishes while her father is reading the papers in a chair beside her.

Tara: "Sir, I'd like to tell you something"

Father: "What's this?"

Tara: "Miss Elmond said I could go to college."

Father (still reading): "And?"

Tara: "I'd like to"

Father (looking up): "You'll go where I tell you to go"

Dissolve to Tara in a dark room, apparently doing spells. She turns round sharply when the door suddenly bursts open. Her father appears in the doorway. He looks furious. Tara's face becomes terrified.
